The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. This year the 59th Annual Observance falls on Thursday, May 6, 2010.
It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America's leaders and its families. It represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

Every year at this time we make a point of watching the Cecil B. De Mille movie, "The Ten Commandments" but just how much do we know about them? When were the Ten Commandments first applied? Did they start with Moses at Mt. Sinai or does the bible show someone before Moses obeyed them? Do you only have to obey some of them or all of them? Do they apply to Christians today?
(1) And God spake all these words, saying,

As we prepare for this Passover season remember our Lord Jesus Christ gave all for our sins. All He asks in return is to obey Him that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.
By grace we are saved as a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ. We prove our faith by our actions as He proved His when He laid down His life for us.

When was Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected? Did He really die on Good Friday and come back to life on Easter Sunday?
Jesus Christ said He would be in the grave for three days and three nights. How can you get 3 days & 3 nights between Good Friday afternoon to Easter Sunday morning?
What is the true origin of Easter? What do chocolate rabbits, colored eggs, hot cross buns, and new clothes have to do with the resurrection of our Lord? How could this have anything to do with Jesus Christ when this custom seems to predate Christ’s birth?
The Chronology of Christ's Crucifixion and Resurrection
Tuesday: Jesus Christ ate an early-evening Passover meal with His disciples (at the beginning of Nisan 14, the first month of the Hebrew calendar) and instituted the New Covenant symbols (Matthew 26:26-28). Jesus was then betrayed by Judas, arrested and during the night brought before the high priest.
Wednesday: Jesus was crucified and died around 3 p.m. (Matthew 27:46-50). This was the preparation day for the annual, not weekly, Sabbath, which began that evening (Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:31). Jesus' body was placed in the tomb at twilight (Matthew 27:57-60).
Thursday: This was the high-day Sabbath, the first day of Unleavened Bread (John 19:31; Leviticus 23:4-7). It is described as the day after the Day of Preparation (Matthew 27:62).
Friday: The high-day Sabbath now past, the women bought and prepared spices for anointing Jesus' body before resting on the weekly Sabbath day, which began at sunset (Mark 16:1; Luke 23:56).
Saturday: The women rested on the weekly Sabbath, according to the Fourth Commandment (Luke 23:56; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus rose around sunset, exactly three days and three nights (72 hours) after burial, fulfilling the sign of Jonah and authenticating Jesus' Messiahship.
Sunday: The women brought the prepared spices early in the morning while it was still dark (Luke 24:1; John 20:1). Jesus had already risen (Matthew 28:1-6; Mark 16:2-6; Luke 24:2-3; John 20:1). He did not rise on Sunday morning, but at sunset the day before.
I have put off posting about this topic long enough! I am not homophobic, I'm not afraid of them, I am just disgusted by their abominable behavior. I'm tired of seeing their "lifestyle" shoved in front of my face as if to say, "See! Look at me! The media says I'm 'normal', so now you have to deal with it!" Now they've been allowed to force a business with Christian foundations to accept them despite the existence of thousands of homosexual dating sites already on the web.
It's time real men stood up and called a sissy a sissy! We can't stand by and allow this behavior to continue as if we don't see it, as if we're not disgusted by it, as if we value political correctness above what we innately know deep inside of us is outrageously wrong! Everything inside a man that makes a man a man screams out, this behavior is WRONG! We cannot continue to stand idly by while they force their agenda further into our businesses, churches, schools and government policies.
We're not afraid of it, our personal manhood isn't threatened by it, we're just seething with righteous indignation over it! Enough already!

We believe the true, original Gospel, as revealed and taught by Jesus Christ and His personally chosen apostles, and as preserved in the God-breathed New Testament. We believe and practice the Word of God, as inspired and preserved in both the Old and New Testaments. Therefore, we are Scripturalists. We strictly follow the Bible, endeavoring to recapture the true meaning of the Word of God by comparing scripture with scripture—in order to prove all things. The Word of God is the truth of God, from the God of truth. As Jesus said, we are to “live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
I strive to be as the Bereans spoken of in Acts 17:10-11 receiving the word with all readiness of mind, and searching the scriptures daily, whether those things are so.
